Support & help
Help for the PrivacyFixed browser extension and the website scanner. If you don’t find your answer below, email us at support@privacyfixed.com — we read every message.
The extension broke a website. How do I fix it?
Open the PrivacyFixed popup and choose Settings, then add the site to your Allowlist. Allowlisted sites are left completely alone — no blocking, no link cleaning, no banner clicking — so the page works normally again. You can remove it from the allowlist any time.
Need a one-off? Use Pause on this site in the popup to turn protection off temporarily.
The popup says nothing was blocked. Is it working?
Yes. The popup shows livecounts for the page you’re on. Some sites load very few trackers — or none — so a low number (or zero) means that page simply wasn’t tracking you much, not that the extension is off. Open a heavier site (a news or shopping page) and you’ll usually see the blocked count and the list of blocked companies climb.
What do the three numbers in the popup mean?
Trackers blocked — known tracking companies stopped before they loaded on this page. Links cleaned — tracking parameters (like ?fbclid and ?utm_…) stripped from URLs. Banners rejected— cookie consent banners we clicked “reject” on for you. The letter grade (A–F) reflects how heavily that page tried to track you.
How do I turn individual protections on or off?
In Settings you can independently toggle Block trackers, Strip tracking links, and Auto-reject cookie banners. When we reject a banner we only ever click “reject” — never “accept”.
Does PrivacyFixed see my browsing?
No. The extension works entirely inside your own browser. It blocks trackers, cleans links, and rejects banners on your device — it does not send your browsing history, the pages you visit, or your activity to us or anyone else. Your settings and allowlist stay on your device. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
How is the extension different from the website scanner?
How do I uninstall it?
In Chrome, right-click the PrivacyFixed icon in your toolbar and choose Remove from Chrome (or go to chrome://extensions and click Remove). Nothing is left behind on our servers, because nothing was ever stored there.
